DECKCHAIR HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Booking Policy and Terms and Conditions of Hire

The Deckchair Hut, Promenade Park, Maldon. 

1.     Deckchairs will only be hired to adults via the online booking system. This booking is not transferable to any other person. Full payment must be made at the time of booking by credit or debit card.

2.     You will receive a booking confirmation including 2 codes, The door code will allow access to the Main door, the second will allow you to release the code lock on the deckchair. The door code must be entered to open the door and again to close the door and secure the unit. The same process is used to return the deckchair at the end of hire period. Please ensure the deckchair is placed in the correct location and numbered door. Your codes will only be applicable for your allocated hire and are then reset. Please ensure you use the door code to open and close the door at start of hire and again at the end of hire. This activates / deactivates your hire period.

3.     Your allocated deckchair will be fitted with a combination lock. Keep this lock on the chair whilst carrying the frame to ensure it doesn’t unfold and cause injury.

4.     Please ensure you have read and fully understood the instructions below on the safe use of a deckchair including how to open

HOW TO SET UP A DECKCHAIR

• Stand the folded deckchair vertically with both folding arms pointing upwards.

• Rotate the longer notched arm away from the frame.

• Rotate the shorter arm towards the longer one and engage the horizontal bar in one of the notches

• Ensure the deckchair is placed on level ground.

• Adjust the seating angle ensuring the base rod is secured within safety catches

 

5. Deckchairs are to be used for the sole purpose of seating. It is not to be used by unsupervised children. The Deckchair `Hut cannot be held responsible for an accident of injury as a result of the misuse / improper use of a deckchair / director chair.

6. All our deckchairs are fitted with safety catches to ensure self-folding. Please ensure your deckchair is set up correctly and the rod is secure within the safety catches. The maximum weight allowance for deckchair use is 110kg

7. A £30.00 security and damages deposit will be preauthorised from your payment card. Should the deckchair not be returned within the booking time period or returned damaged, the deposit will become payable immediately. It is your responsibility to ensure the deckchair is returned to the correct Location and door.

8.     The Deckchair huts are continually monitored and all deckchairs are inspected prior to hire. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure they check the deckchair for any damage on collection, any damage should be photographed and notified immediately via The Deckchair Hut booking app. If damage is not notified to the company at the start of the hire period, the hirer will be held responsible for the damages. 9. Valuables should not be stored within the deckchair hut. 

10.  The Deckchair Hut reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice should there be circumstances outside of our control for example damage to the deckchairs. Should this occur, every effort will be made to accommodate the booking or a full refund will be issued to the hirer
